Styling the Ribbon - how to get a gradient.
posted

Hello,

When styling my application I start with a pre-existing theme. The ribbon look very good..

But for my theme I would like to change the blue colors in the ribbon to something else. I end up with this:

which doesn't look as nice at all. The problem is that the gradient colors of the first theme has been replaced with just one solid color. Is there any way I can specify two colors and get a gradient look as in the first case? I am using version 8.2 of the AppStylist, so this possiblity might have been added since then.

Cheers, Johan

    Hi Johan,

What exactly did you set to get the header to look like a solid color?

If it was properties on a UIRole, then you can specify two colors and a gradient style right in the UIRole editor.

If you want to change the colors of the theme as a whole, then an easier way to do this would be to use the blend color. This is available on the StyleLibrary Properties on the right-hand side of AppStylist. It's collapsed by default.
