Unfortunately, there is no tool or sample which can help accomplish this. You could probably keep a list in a text or xml file that is saved out when the application closes and loaded when the application is opened. Then you can manage the list internally when an item is opened with you application. When the list changes, you can clear out the tools in your recently viewed list (remove them from the Tools collection of the toolbars manager so all instances are removed), then repopulate the recently viewed list by creating new tools, adding them to the Tools collection of the toolbars manager, and then adding them to the menu where list will be seen.
