i have a ultraGrid which i am adding text as formatted html. The cell wraps the text correctly over a number of lines but when i move the mouse over it sometimes the cell redraws itself and puts an extra carriage return in the text but as the cell size remains the same some if it is hidden from view
It shouldnt change at all and i cant work out if there is a patern as to what causes a cel to do this as it seems to be completly random. Ideas anyone?
I am speculating but this sounds like you have set a property on a hot tracking appearance that makes the text larger when the cell is hot tracking, like for example, settng the Bold property on the HotTrackCellAppearance. If you attach a sample project we could tell you for certain what is causing it.

i havent used any hot tracking and your colleague Mike answer makes sense so i will try the latest SR when it is available. In the meantime i have created a small app for you to look at which is a stripped down version of our app
The interesting thing is that when you move the mouse over it doesnt move the text but scroll bars appear. i dont know why but is slightly different from the original problem where the text actually moved. From the full program I have copied the grid, removed the extra columns and essentailly taken the text that it generated to populate the grid directly. The result is the same in that the cell changes

I have tested the uploaded sample also with the latest service release from December – 10.1.2083 and the scrollbars that appear when using 10.1.2057 are no longer displayed. Please check if this release solves your issue.

I ran your sample using our latest internal build (with the bug fix in it) and I moused over every cell in the grid several times and got no scroll bars. So that's further confirmation that what's happening in your application is the result of the bug which I mentioned.
