Hello,
when I run the Toolbox Utility for Version2011.1 on VS 2008 Professional SP1 it claims that it adds all components to the NetAdvantage tab. But in the last steps it will remove the tab from the toolbox. See output below.
Any suggestions besides choosing the toolbox items by hand?
Regards,
Torsten
Hi Torsten,
The only situation I can think of that ‘might’ potentially cause this issue, is where there are more than one version of NetAdvantage installed on the same machine. The Windows Form product, however has a feature which, (normally) automatically installs the tab and toolbox component, when the product is installed; is there any particular reason why you are using the Toolbox utility, as this may shed some light on why the utility is failing.

Hi Chris,
I have indeed an older version 2009.2 installed. In the past it was no problem to have two versions installed parallel. During installation of the product, the Toolbox tab was not installed. Therefore I tried to set it up manually with the Toolbox utility. Are there any logfiles written during installation to see why it is failing?
I have determined that there is in fact a log file generated for the Toolbox utility installation; by default it should be located within the documents folder …\Documents\Infragistics\Tools\Toolbox Utility\Toolbox Utility.log
The contents of this file may further illuminate the source of this issue. If you are able to attach it to this forum thread, I would be more than happy to review it for a possible cause.
If you have any questions at all, regarding this issue, please let me know.

I have attached the logile to this post. Basically it is saying the same as the screenshot.
Maybe this helps you finding the cause.
I have reviewed your log file and I have found this issue to be quite peculiar. The log file was straight forward, but did not point to a potential source. I have attempted to reproduce this issue myself on several different systems with multiple versions of NetAdvantage, (and different versions of Visual Studio) installed, without success. I would make sure that you are running the installation as an administrator, this would especially be true if you are running Windows 7 on your machine. In your start-up menu, right-click on the Toolbox utility and there should be an option located in the context menu for Run as Administrator.
If this process fails, it may be possible that your toolbox settings are corrupt. You will be able to force the Toolbox to completely reinitialize, by deleting the .tbd files within the application data folder (example: “C:\Users\..<user>..\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0”). The Toolbox will re-initialize the next time you launch Visual Studio.
Please let me know if this resolves your issue.
I just tried to follow your advice. The result was, that I now have a ToolBox Tab NetAdvantage 2011.1 but I have all entries doubled. One for build 1003 and one for build 2020. Could it be that installing the service pack is causing the trouble?
So far setting up the ToolBox tab manually seems the only solution for me.
It sounds like the installation succeeded this time, you just have multiple instances now in the same tab? If this is the case, I believe that resetting the toolbar will correct this new issue. You can reset the toolbar by right clicking on the Toolbox group for NetAdvantage 11.1 and select the option labeled “Reset Toolbox”.
unfortunately resetting the toolbar didn't help, I had to clear out the entries of build 1003 by hand.
