Workbook.Save appears to be loosing cell borders for an Excel 2007 file. Attached is a sample project. Clicking the first button just opens the excel 2007 file. Cell borders are intact. Clicking the second button uses Infragistics excel Load and Save. The saved workbook is missing cell borders.
Hi,
I ran your sample and it works fine for me. My guess is that you are using an old version of the controls and this was a bug that was fixed many years ago.
Get the latest service release.
How to get the latest service release - Infragistics Community
Can you tell me exactly what version of the controls you are trying it with? We upgraded to version 10.2.20102.2151 but the problem is still there. I will try with the next later version.
Also, not all the cell borders disappear, just the ones I highlighed in the screenshot images included in the .zip folder attached. (compare files "sheet with cell borders.jpg" and "sheet with MISSING cell borders.jpg" to see the particular borders that go missing (highlighted in red). Can you confirm that the double line cell border between rows 8 and 10 shows up when you click the button "Load, Save and Open Workbook"...
Thanks Mike, I appreciate your help.
I used the last service release for 10.2, which is the same one you list here.
And just to be clear, I saw your screen shots, so I am pretty sure I am looking at the correct borders. Another interesting thing is that some of the cells in my Excel sheet have colors that your screen shots is lacking. For example, the text in cells B2 - B4 are blue on my machine. So I am wondering if you are using the same sample you posted here.
If you are going to try upgrading, I recommend upgrading to at least 12.1 or higher.
Hi Mike,
The blue is present in screen shot "sheet with cell borders.jpg". I guess this is another thing missing from the loaded/saved worksheet...
To make sure we are on the same page...
1. Click "Just Open the Workbook" button - should look like "sheet with cell borders.jpg"
2. Click "Load Save, and Open Workbook" button - should look like "sheet with MISSING cell borders.jpg"
I've tried it on multiple machines and in our release environments. Always different.. very strange.
Yep. That's exactly what I am doing. It's possible that my internal version of the control has a fix in it that was never released in 10.2. So maybe that's what's happening here. I recommend trying 12.1 or higher and see if you still get the same problem. You could download a trial if you don't already own the newer version.
Good news, the problem is resolved in version 2010.3. Thanks for your assistance Mike.
