Hi
If you grab the timeline area's horizontal scrollbar drag handle and move it all the way to the right or left it then jumps back a bit, which as I understand it is the expected behaviour for infinite scrolling.
However, if you use the scroll buttons to move the handle all the way to one side or the other it does not then jump back, which means the user doesn't necessarily realise they can go any further in that direction. Is that the expected behaviour - it seems inconsistent with the behaviour when grabbing the handle and moving it? I'm not familiar with this kind of infinite scrolling so not sure if this is normal/expected?
Cheers, Tom
Hi Tom,
Thank you for contacting Infragistics Developer Support.
What could be the reason why this is the case is that when you are dragging the thumb you would need to some sort of visual queue that it is possible to continue dragging. When using the buttons you will keep continuously scrolling and you won’t need such queue and it could also add an element of confusion.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
I understand what you are saying, but to me as a user if the handle is all the way at one end then I wouldn't expect there to any more scrolling available? In other words it would be better if it jumped back to show you that you can carry on?
The other issue with the current behaviour is that if you have scrolled all the way to one side and then grab the handle you can't scroll any further, and when you then let the handle go it jumps back, which makes it seem like it got stuck and you had to touch it to release it.
Maybe this is how it's supposed to work, just seemed odd to me.
