I am trying to update infragistics to its latest service release, but when I run the Infragistics_DevTools_20152.exe I get an error saying:
This application cannot connect with infragistics.com through the proxy server configured. It will only be able to affect products that are currently installed or have available installers detected on this machine. It will not be able to download products or detect the latests updates. Installers that can be run offline for products not available on this machine can be downloaded from your account at http://ko.infragistics.com/ or you may contact support at http://ko.infragistics.com/support.
I am using the Infragistics Ultimate Complete Bundle, I thought that was the fully offline way to install infragistics? How can I update my latest version of Infragistics for WPF with an offline installer? I don't get why it says it can not connect to infragistics, when i have no issue comming to the website and posting things here.
Please help me, we need the latests service release because it should fix some issues we are experiencing.
Thanks!
Hello Dzyann,
Thank you for your post.
It sounds like what is happening here is that the network settings on your proxy server are not allowing the Infragistics_DevTools_20152.exe go out and get the service release on your machine. The Infragistics Ultimate Complete Bundle is a great, offline way to initially install Infragistics products, but for the service releases, the Infragistics_DevTools_20152.exe will try to go out and download it prior to installing it, and it seems your network settings are disallowing this.
For you to be able to update to the latest version of Infragistics WPF via an offline installer, I would recommend navigating to https://ko.infragistics.com/my-account/keys-and-downloads, and logging into your Infragistics account. When the resultant website comes up, you should see a list box that reads "Dev Tools." One of the entries in this box should be your 2015.2 product. Click it, and a new set of tabs will open up. One of these tabs will read "Service Releases." Inside, you will be able to download an installer for the Infragistics WPF 2015 Vol. 2 - Service Release. This will download a .zip file, and inside will be the release notes for that service release and a .msp that you can use to install the service release.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns on this matter.
Sincerely,AndrewAssociate DeveloperInfragistics Inc.www.infragistics.com/support
Hi Andrew,
As I mentioned in my post, that option doesn't work either, I get another error.
To say that the Bundle is offline, when it does not work offline, is really misleading, and a waste of time, since it takes a while to download 3GB file.
This is really frustrating, what's more, makes no sense, because I can download the bundle, I can log in, I can post here, but the installer doesn't work!
Kind regards,
I have been doing some research into the error message that you are seeing, and this appears to have to do with a permissions issue on that particular file. I would recommend that you ensure that this file has read and execute privileges prior to installing the service release for Infragistics for WPF 2015.2. For more information on this matter, I would like you to take a look at the following forum thread: http://superuser.com/questions/169834/cant-run-windows-7-installer-error-reading-from-file.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns on this matter.
It seems for some reason the page froze and didn't post the update to my original post, so, sorry for that, you are right the original post doesn't have the update about the Service Release. For whatever reason it won't let me update it.
So I will write it here. I get the error:
Error reading from file C:\Windows\Installer\945089.msi Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
Regarding the bundle not working offline - it does work offline to initially install the Infragistics product. For the Infragistics_DevTools_20152.exe to install the service releases, it must go out and download the service release though. This is why we make the service releases available as a separate "offline installer" package of their own.
It is rather strange that the .msp file is not working for you, as that file is completely offline, and should work as such. I don't really recall reading in your original post that the .msp wasn't working for you though. Would it be possible for you to please provide the full error message that you are seeing when trying to install using the .msp file that is downloaded from the Infragistics website via your account?
