Hello,
After having installed 2016.2 I noticed that the help for WPF does not appear in HelpViewer 2.2 of VS 2015 (same applies to WinForms help). Repair and reinstall seem not to fix it and the installation reports that it has been successful. Uninstall and intstall of 2016.1 works fine, which could be an indication that the help system is working fine, but the 2016.2 installer might doing something wrong. Of course I can use Online-Help, but since I'm not always online, I would prefer to get the offline help to work.
Thanks, Stefan
Hello slago,
The WPF 16.2 help is provided as a chm file when installing the WPF 16.2 product. Its default location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Infragistics\2016.2\WPF\Help\Infragistics.WPF.chm".
As you noticed, the WPF 16.2 help is not available in Visual Studio anymore.
Please let me know if you have any other questions on this matter.
Hi and thanks for your quick answer.
Well, yes I have noticed all that, but I cannot say that I like it. Is this the official policy of Infragistics now, to not provide the help as content for VS HelpViewer anymore and instead go back to a format that should be extinct since years and is blocked on many corporate computers? If that would be the case, it would really make me rethink, if I want to renew my subscription again...
I wholeheartedly understand. I have a idea I'd like to discuss with you if you have a moment. Can you email me at cshoemaker@infragistics.com so I can follow up with you?
Thanks for the clarification. I saw the new online help now, which I think is really a nice and good thing as long as you have a network connection. In my case that's not always given, so I would really appreciate a usable offline help...

I agree that no having other formats beyond CHM is frustrating. At the moment CHM is the only format available with 2016.2, however we are looking at providing other formats beyond CHM for coming releases.
