not workin ......btw forgot to mention one thing..i have binded the Datagrids datasource to a linq query var q = from c in xdoc.Descendants("Africa") orderby ((string)c.Element(cb1.Text).Value) ascending select new { Country = c.Element("Country").Value, *= c.Element(cb1.Text).Value }; xdg1.DataSource = q.ToArray(); wot i want is the second column name to be the combobox text .....so wot should i write in the second select statement (the one marked with *) ......plz help

The grid contents are changing for me every time I change the combobox selection and then click the button.

ok its workin now thanks ...........one more question .......the orderby in Linq dosen't seem to be workin properly ....i.e it is sorting the first digits ...i.e if the value is 13,1,55,555,400,2000 ...then its sortin like this 1,13,2000,400,55,555 .........but i want it to get sorted like this 1,13,55,400,555,2000..........so is there any way to do it in Datagrid ......or.......anyother change i can do in the Linq query...
