selecting records

I tried to select the records with Ctrl+mouse click or shift+downarrow

but the

dg.SelectedItems.Records.Count is showing zero....

how can i select several records in the grid?

    If you have not changed the SelectionTypeRecord property from its default on the XamDataGrid.FieldLayoutSettings and FieldLayout.Settings objects, then multi-selection should work with either Ctrl+Mouse and Shift+DownArrow.  dg.SelectedItems.Records.Count will return the number of selected records in this case. 
     
    Not sure what else could be causing the records to be non-selectable.
