No this is not possible in the current version. In MS Project the only time one sees multiple bars in one row is when using roll ups and in that case it is the bars of the descendant tasks that are displayed in the ancestor summary rows. Also in MS Project a task can be split but that is a bit different because that is essentially pausing/interrupting a single task for some period of time and also has a different visual representation to indicate the interrupted time. May I ask what the scenario is in your case?

I am also looking for a resource view type of chart. We are trying to do production planning and scheduling, and that includes many types of resources in addition to people. This should be like the MS Project team-planner view in that it should be resource-centric rather than task centric. But I would like the option for tasks to be shown similarly in both the Gantt and resource views, preferably at the same time. I understand that this implies that one task will have multiple visual representations - once on the Gantt chart and once per resource used on the resource view.
A nice extension for the task representation on a resource view would be to adjust the height of the bar representing the activity's usage of the resource. If a resource is a person they can typically only do one thing at a time, but a resource such as an oven might have room for multiple batches of material at the same time - e.g. an oven has four shelves, one batch might take up one, two, three or all four shelves; so at any time there might be four one-shelf batches in the oven or two singles and a double shelf batch, etc...
A further nice bolt-on would be a resource usage chart - like a histogram of resource usage over time, either per resource or maybe for a group of resources
Finally on my wish-list for now would be the idea of hierarchical resources - a bit like activities can have a parent and several child activities. We sometimes have to model some machines that have e.g. an input buffer zone, one or more processing stages and an output buffer. Sometimes it is enough to view this as one machine, other times it is nice to drill down to the internal details.

Well a resource view is actually different than a split task. A split task is a single task that has a start time but for some reason is interrupted for some period of time and then continues after that. A resource view would likely be a different control or at least a different view - maybe something like the team planner in MS Project. I wanted to understand the scenario so the appropriate feature request could be submitted.
