How to edit an appmap when a project is created ?
Hi,
Can you please provide more detail of what you are trying to accomplish?
Looking forward to assisting you,
I create a myproject with appmap (A), I continue to code, then because of the need to change, I need to edit appmap (B).How to solve it ?
The current version of AppMap is a one-way, one-time tool.
Once the project is created, Visual Studio is the tool for modifying your project.
You can add additional pages by adding a new AppMap item to the project, but this only adds new pages but does not allow editing the existing pages.
Does this help?
Thanks, I think it needs more upgrades for flexibility.Have a nice day!
If you can describe what your desired workflow is, we can consider it for the next version.
I don't think changing an existing project would be something we should do, it could cause many more problems and have undesirable side effects.
We are considering saving an AppMap and then allow the developer to reopen it. When reopened, the developer could recreate the solution if the first attempt didn't work out as planned.
Best to you,
I was using it for the first time and thought that it should have that feature, too. If laying out a complex application, I sure would like to save it and get back to it later if I don't have time to finish. Maybe something in the generated code wasn't quite right and you wanted to fix it and start with new, freshly generated code.
I also spent an hour laying out a diagram and accidently hit Cancel. Poof! Everything gone. Not even an "Are you Sure?" Cancel buttons should be to the left of Apply buttons. I don't have the best eyesight so I thought I was hitting the create button. Also, since there is no way to get back to the design, there should also be a confirmation dialog for creating your app. I would probably put Save, Cancel, and Create buttons in that order.
It's a cool concept, though. I will keep checking in for improvements to see if it's something I'm willing to recommend for use.
It would be truly awesome if you could actually layout the pages, too. :-)

I think your opinion is great, saving an AppMap and then allow the developer to reopen it, it is very useful !to
