HI Team,
In our project we are using Infragistics 10.2 version ultrawebgrid which is not working as expected in IE9.
Should we upgrade the version? If so which version and which grid should we use?
Warm Regards,
Jayaprabha
Hello Jayaprabha,
Thank you for posting in our forum.
You have three main options in this situation:
For any of the new controls you can use two main sources for information about their functionality – our documentation and the Samples Browser that shows many life samples:
http://help.infragistics.com/Help/NetAdvantage/ASPNET/2012.1/CLR4.0/html/Web_Controls.html
http://samples.infragistics.com/aspnet/
If you need further information regarding some of the above scenarios let me know.
Thanks Alex.
Would Like to know till when infragistics can give support for the first 2 options?
In the first and second scenario, based on our Support Policy and Product Lifecycle (http://ko.infragistics.com/help/product-lifecycle/) the support with Service Releases is already expired both for versions 10.2 and 11.1.
We are still supporting these versions of our controls and you can create cases and ask questions regarding their usage and functionality, but if some issue arises that can be fixed only through Source Code modification then you will have to upgrade to supported with Service Releases version or use workaround if available. You can also attempt to modify our Source Code yourself or contact our Services team for additional assistance (http://ko.infragistics.com/services/contact-us/).
The classic controls (like “UltraWebGrid”) however are retired and not added in our toolset since version 11.1. That means support for them under newest version of the major browsers (IE 10 for example) is not certain at the moment.
That is why I can recommend you to use first two scenarios only as temporary solution until you have time and resources to migrate to our new Aikido controls.
I hope that this information will be helpful.
One More question for you. Say i am migrating my application in a phased manner, will the Ultra web grid will function with out any exception in IE 9?
To say it clearly at the same moment , my application will be having my latest grid and also legacy grid. Will the application run with out any major exceptions?
Latest service releases, that add IE 9 support for our classic toolset (“UltraWebGrid” included) for controls with versions higher than 10.1, were tested and approved, so they should work without any issues under IE 9 browser.
If you use both new and classic grid in the same application there should not be any issues either.
Let me know if you need further information.
