The Microsoft® Office 2007-style Navigation Pane, added in 2006 Volume 3, has the ability to collapse and expand. When collapsed, only a sliver of the Navigation Pane remains, giving you much more workspace in your application. By default, when collapsed, the Navigation Pane’s group area will display the text "Navigation Pane". You have the ability to customize this text so that it more closely resembles what the actual group is called.
For example, you may wish to create an Outlook 2007-style application. The groups on the Navigation Pane can include Mail, Calendar, Contact, and Note items. You can change the text in the group area when the Navigation Pane is collapsed to match these groups. Doing so involves modifying one property per group, the NavigationPaneCollapsedGroupAreaText property. You may wish to set this property to the Key of the group, or you can set it to any meaningful string.
The code below changes the Text in the collapsed group area of the Mail group to "Mail".
In Visual Basic:
Me.UltraExplorerBar1.Groups(0).Settings.NavigationPaneCollapsedGroupAreaText = _ "Mail"
In C#:
this.ultraExplorerBar1.Groups[0].Settings.NavigationPaneCollapsedGroupAreaText = "Mail";
