System.Exception | Thrown when the text contains the value of the PathSeparator property. |
When the Text property is not explicitly set, the value of the Infragistics.Shared.KeyedSubObjectBase.Key property is used to identify this location when parsing a navigation path. When the DisplayText property is explicitly set, that value is displayed on the LocationTextButtonUIElement which represents this location in the user interface; when DisplayText is not explicitly set, the resolved value of the Text property is displayed. When a navigation path is parsed by the control, both the resolved text (the value of either the Text or Key property depending on which is explicitly set) and the DisplayText are evaluated when determining whether a portion of the navigation path represents this location.
Note: The Text property cannot be set to a value that contains the PathSeparator; doing so will cause an exception to be thrown.
Note: Setting the Text property to an empty string is functionally equivalent to setting the IncludeTextInFullPath property to false; i.e., neither the text for this location nor that of any of its ancestors is required when parsing a path which identifies a descendant location.
