Imports System.IO ... ' Load the layout from a stream Using fs As New FileStream("xamDataGridLayout1.xml", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read) Me.xamDataGrid1.LoadCustomizations(fs) End Using ...
Your end users can move, sort, and group fields at run time using the xamDataGrid™ control or the xamDataPresenter™ control. The xamDataCarousel™ control will only allow end users to group fields since it does not display field headers. Your end users will expect you to save and load these customizations so that they do not have to modify the fields when they restart your application. The DataPresenterBase class exposes an overloaded LoadCustomizations method that you can use to load a previously saved field customization. If the Key property of the FieldLayout object does not match the key value in the layout file, the data presenters will not apply the customizations from the layout file.
The following example code demonstrates how to load field customizations. The example code uses an instance of a xamDataGrid control, but you can use a xamDataPresenter control or xamDataCarousel control as well.
In Visual Basic:
Imports System.IO ... ' Load the layout from a stream Using fs As New FileStream("xamDataGridLayout1.xml", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read) Me.xamDataGrid1.LoadCustomizations(fs) End Using ...
In C#:
using System.IO; ... // Load the layout from a stream using (FileStream fs = new FileStream("xamDataGridLayout1.xml", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read)) { this.xamDataGrid1.LoadCustomizations(fs); } ...
